panel1smPylones provides a complete end-to-end digital sign systems, and provides expertise for all of the three pillars of Digital Signage: Hardware, Software and Content.

Digital signage is a form of electronic display that can show Television programming, menus, information, advertising and other messages. Digital signs (such as LCD, LED, plasma displays, or projected images) can be found in many public and private environments, such as retail stores, hotels, restaurants and corporate buildings.

Digital signage is far more beneficial compared to static signage since content can be digitally updated frequently, saving the cost of printing. Digital signage also has the ability to be interactive when coupled with embedded touch screens, movement detection or image capture devices.

Due to the immediateness and flexibility of Digital Signage, advertisements and messages can be displayed on digital signs delivering targeted messages to specific locations at specific times.

A huge variety of content types are supported and can be displayed on the digital sign in either wide-screen 16:9 or full-screen 4:3 format depending on the specific requirements.

Signs can be used in a huge variety of scenarios. One common scenario is for “Way-finding” providing visitors with information as to the direction in which they need to go in order to find a specific event. At the location of the event itself it is possible to have a smaller sign showing that the event is there and providing more detailed localized information regarding the event.

Below are examples of how two such signs could look:

Software Application

The software application is very easy to use and allows you to have total control of all aspects of each of your digital signs from anywhere in the world.

Users program each sign via a calendar interface allowing them to very quickly and easily manipulate events either inserting new or editing existing ones with simple drag drop actions.

Sign Screen

The schedule can also be viewed as required as a Day, Week or Timeline View.

Groups of Signs can also be created to allow users to program a display schedule that will concurrently affect a whole group of signs to avoid having to individually program each sign.

A custom override schedule is also available allowing users to quickly cover the whole screen of all and any signs with a custom image that will override all other display items. Useful for urgent or emergency messages required to be displa

yed on all signs.

The Way-finding signs are driven by the events themselves and the screens are automatically generated based on events passed into the system.

Layouts & Templating

Users may create their own templates to suit their exact requirements. There is no limit on the number of templates that can be created using the layout designer provided. Users have full control of background and the positioning of text items relating to events as well as custom items that they may wish to display in the sign such as flash animations (swf) or streaming videos (avi, mpeg, flv etc.) and many other formats that are supported by the application.

Sign Administration

Administrators are constantly updated on the status of all the physical signs (hardware) in the system and the health of each sign as well its current display.

Using the signs management screen, signs can be activated/de-activated or settings can be changed such as the polling frequency, basically how often the sign should check its central server for changes to the schedule.

If for any reason a sign loses connectivity with the central server either due to network loss or power loss the administrator will be notified so as to be able to resolve any issues.
