In this category, took part companies and organizations which achieved through their plan to contribute to the general security of their staff in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic, by combining and offering ideal information, support and reward to the company’s employees. Pylones Hellas received the BRONZE award in this special category for actions that concern both to its business and wider social environment.
The new reality of work during the COVID-19 pandemic
We were all called to face a new and dangerous reality through different and unprecedented conditions, created by the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic. Pylones Hellas realized very quickly the new situation and proceeded consciously and consistently with the necessary measures to protect employees against the spread of coronavirus in the workplace with the “ we make IT safe” program.
A special prevention and information team was created in order to communicate with the government authorities, to be informed about the new measures that had to be taken, and at the same time to launch and coordinate the respective actions within the company. In this way, a complete plan for 100% remote work of the employees was organized and implemented, ensuring the secure infrastructure and the necessary equipment to work as if they were in the company’s workplace.
The “trump card” of psychology
In addition to the appropriate working conditions through infrastructure and equipment, having in mind the difficulty of conditions and the daily restricted life due to lockdown for everyone, the company focused on creating and strengthening a positive climate during distance working. The aim was to create conditions targeted at suppressing tension and providing security and calm.
Consciously we did not proceed to any action that would upset the form and conditions of work agreements that company has with each employee, measures such as suspension of work, modification of hours, etc. and at the same time special attention was paid to the individual needs of each employee to maintain personal and family balance.
“The time we have spent and continue to go through is unprecedented for all of us. We had to act quickly and effectively in uncharted waters. Having as a compass and reference point the human factor, we proceeded to a series of actions whose main concern was to create a climate of security and optimism within the company. Priority was given to the most important asset of our company – our people – in order to maintain balance and prosperity in the company, elements necessary to achieve our goals and respond immediately to the new conditions created worldwide.” stressed about the award Ms. Nelli Dedemadi, HR Manager of Pylones Hellas.
